TRUMP AND EUROPE: (SUGAR) DADDY AND THE WHORE OF BABYLON

The 2025 NATO summit in The Hague exposed the full perversity of the West’s marriage of convenience and its boundless militarism (which seems to know neither limits nor shame). Under the spotlight, unsurprisingly, stood U.S. President Donald Trump. That’s hardly shocking, considering America’s military superiority—not only over its allies, but over the rest of the world (at least if measured by its astronomical defense spending).

But the real punchline came from NATO’s new poodle-in-chief, Mark Rutte, who appeared desperate to display his loyalty to the empire. He went so far as to call Trump “daddy.” My first association was with a “sugar daddy”—though that might apply only to Rutte himself. To all the others, Trump behaves more like a pimp: he demands submission, offers no compensation, and expects services to be rendered without question.

Then came another image to mind: the old moniker for Europe—now infantilized and trampled—the Whore of Babylon. She remains promiscuous (just look at her behavior toward Gaza and Iran), but now she is also weak and desperate. So weak, in fact, that she had to borrow money to fulfill Trump’s wet dreams. Her only remaining power is aimed at those who beg for the privilege of entering her geopolitical brothel—those hopefuls still knocking at EU’s door.

In The Hague, what we witnessed was a parade of prodigal sons and daughters, war criminals walking free, enjoying gala dinners and smiling for family portraits. But what was missing was international justice.

The consequences of this summit’s decisions are yet to be felt—especially by us, the poorest countries. Trump doesn’t need Europe to spark a third world war—he may do it via his adventures in the Middle East or China alone.

What matters now is that we no longer harbor any illusions about the West’s true trajectory. Here’s a hint: it’s not heading toward a symphony, but toward a military march. And our sons are the cannon fodder.

As for Macedonia’s president—clearly inexperienced in matters of security and visibly dazzled by the glamor of the global jet set—one day she may wake up. But it will be too late. We will remember her as the starstruck teenager who not only forgot what we’ve already paid for NATO, but also what we will continue to pay—from our poverty.
