A strong and necessary text.

July 4 should not be surrendered to the mythology of empire. In the former Yugoslav space, it also carries another meaning: Fighter’s Day, the memory of organized anti-fascist resistance, popular courage, and liberation won from below.

What is most painful today is not only that this memory has been neglected, but that it has been actively traded away by elites who replaced dignity with obedience, history with imported propaganda, and anti-fascism with empty Western-approved slogans.

Your article is powerful because it refuses both amnesia and false innocence. It reminds us that a people who forget their own fighters become easier to govern, easier to humiliate, and easier to recruit into other people’s wars.

Remembering Fighter’s Day is not nostalgia. It is resistance against historical erasure.

Comment on NATO 3.0: Alliance or Military-Industrial Investment Fund?

Note that the system of boosting the economy via military spending was invented by the Third Reich. The return on investment comes from tribute, loot, theft, piracy, and possibly enslavement. When finance minister Hjalmar Schacht realized where this was leading he resigned.
